Inshore Fishing Charter

If you're looking for the most reliable, action-packed fishing day Bradenton has to offer, an inshore charter is the answer. Inshore fishing means we're working the protected waters: the Manatee River, the bays inside the Sunshine Skyway, the grass flats and mangrove shorelines around Anna Maria Island, and the oyster bars and dock lines along the Intracoastal. We also work the historic mangrove shorelines off Cortez, one of the best snook spots within 15 minutes of the dock. The boat ride is short, the water is calm, and the bite is steady.
Captain Charlie Tita has fished this exact stretch of coast for more than 35 years. That's the kind of local knowledge that turns a slow tide into a productive one and lets us read what's happening on a flat before we even drop the trolling motor.
What we target on inshore trips
Three species are the headline act on every inshore charter in Bradenton:
Snook. Florida's most prized inshore gamefish. Aggressive strikes, blistering runs into the mangroves, hard for anglers to forget. We catch them year-round with seasonal pattern shifts.
Redfish. Bull reds in fall, slot reds on the flats most of the year. They tail in skinny water, push wakes, and pull hard. Sight fishing for tailing reds is one of the great experiences in saltwater fishing.
Spotted seatrout. The everyman target. Steady, willing, great on light tackle, and great in the kitchen if you keep one. Big "gator" trout over 24 inches show up consistently in our area.
Beyond the big three, you'll regularly hook into mangrove snapper, sheepshead (winter especially), Spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, ladyfish, flounder, black drum, and pompano. Some days you'll catch eight or ten different species without changing spots.
Where we fish
Our home water gives us more variety than almost any other inshore fishery in Florida.
Area What it produces
Manatee RiverSnook, redfish, jacks, sheepshead, year-round protection from wind
Lower Tampa Bay (Skyway, Bishop Harbor) Big trout, redfish schools, cobia in spring
Anna Maria Island flats Snook on the beach, redfish, trout, tarpon
Cortez and Palma Sola Bay Sheepshead, snook, redfish, snapper
Egmont Key area Snook, mackerel, occasional tarpon and shark
We pick the spot based on tide, wind, and what's biting. That's the entire point of having a guide who has run these waters his whole life.
How we fish
Inshore fishing in Bradenton runs the full range of techniques and we adjust on the fly:
-
Live bait under a popping cork on the flats
-
Free-lined whitebait along the mangroves and beaches
-
Soft plastic jigs around docks and structure
-
Topwater plugs at first and last light
-
Bottom rigs for sheepshead and mangrove snapper around pilings
You don't need to know any of this to come fishing. If you're new, Captain Charlie will run the rod for you, set the hook, and hand it off. If you're experienced, you'll have free rein.
The boat for the job
The 2021 Parker 25' center console has the room for 8, the stability for kids, and the Deep-V hull to handle a windy bay day without beating you up. The Rhodan wireless trolling motor is the key piece of kit for inshore work; it lets us creep onto a school of redfish without spooking them and hold a position over a productive spot hands-free.

Tips for your inshore trip
A short checklist that will make your day better:
-
Bring polarized sunglasses. They cut glare and let you spot fish on the flats.
-
Wear non-marking shoes or come barefoot.
-
Pack water, snacks, and a real lunch for 6 and 8 hour trips.
-
Sunscreen on before you arrive, reapply every two hours.
-
Light layers in winter mornings; the run out can be cold even when the day warms up.
-
Get a good night’s sleep, especially before a sunrise departure.
Inshore fishing charter FAQs
Is inshore fishing good for kids? It's the best charter we offer for kids. Calm water, steady bite, short runs, and lots of variety to keep them engaged.
What's the difference between inshore and nearshore? Inshore stays in the bays, rivers, and along the beaches in protected water. Nearshore runs out into the Gulf to fish reefs and structure for bigger species.
When is the best time of year for inshore fishing in Bradenton? Every month produces. Spring and fall are peak for variety. Summer is best for snook. Winter is exceptional for trout, redfish, and sheepshead. There's no bad time.
Do you target tarpon on inshore trips? Not specifically. If we run into rolling fish during a summer inshore trip we can take a shot, but a dedicated tarpon trip is the right choice if that's the goal.
How long should I book? 4 hours is plenty for kids and casual anglers. 6 hours is the sweet spot for serious fishing. 8 hours gives you time to fish multiple zones and pattern the day fully.
Can we keep what we catch? Yes, within Florida regulations. Some species have closed seasons or strict slot limits (snook and redfish in particular). Captain Charlie keeps you legal.
Where do we meet? 801 Riverside Dr E, Bradenton, FL 34208. Free parking on site.
Do you provide bait? Yes. Live bait is caught fresh each morning before your trip.
